EDU 790 Week 3: Acceptable Use Policies

1/24/18 Hello, Today I will be going over the staff acceptable use policies and student technology contract at my school.  I teach science at a 1:1 Chromebook school💻  . Every student has access to resources at school and at home. The Student Technology Contract for my school is a google slideshow.  The students will spend a 10th period (study hall period) going over the policy with their teachers. EDU 790: Week 2 What is Community?

1/21/18 Hello, This week I will be discussing the PLN social benefit that meets my needs and the PLN Tic-Tac-Toe activity I have chosen. I feel that I have a few different professional learning networks, but none of them are very interactive online.  I am a member of the Digital Leadership Corps in my district, the Middle School representative of the annual STEAM Night committee,  NSTA member, athletic coach and club sponsor.  From these groups, I enjoy meeting the affective and cognative benefits of a Professional Learning Community.  I follow many people, groups and companies on Twitter, but never engage in a discussion. I enjoy reading the monthly blogs and articles and attending the conferences offered by the National Science Teachers Association. However, after the conference, I never ask further question or reach out to the presenters in the future; or better yet strive to become a presenter myself!  I like to know that I'm no the right track when it...

Hello, My name is Theresa Kelly and I am a 7th grade science and robotics teacher. I studied education at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. I am currently pursuing my technology specialist certification and masters degree from Dominican University in River Forest, IL.  This is my third year teaching at McClure and my tenth year teaching science.  I coach 8th grade girls basketball and 7th grade girls softball. I also sponsor the McClure Games Club. Science is my passion.  I am always trying to learn new things to make my classroom better! I have worked and gained teaching experience at Walt Disney World, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and the Morton Arboretum. My teacher assistant, Rhett Butler the tortoise, lives in my classroom. I hope I can bring new ways of using technology into the classroom that will make the lessons exciting and engaging! I believe the students need to experience a hands on science classroom.  In science, students learn by doing, expe...
